History:
Aspen was born in a wealthy, high-class family, and being intellectually gifted, Aspen was sent to one of the most prestigious schools in the solar system at age 12, she quickly rose through the ranks, becoming one of their best students. As good as she was in regular academic circles, what really fascinated her was flying, real exciting space craft piloting, becoming a respected starship pilot with an incredible reputation was her dream, and trained as often as she could in the schools ship yard. Familiarizing herself with all the controls, memorizing every code and signal, and preforming death defying maneuvers, usually only accomplished by the best of the best,… she was good at academics, but was exceptional at flying.
And then she overheard a conversation. Walking around outside, she couldn’t help but overhear the pleas of a grief stricken father, trying to enter the school, but being told by security that he wasn’t allowed inside. More than a little curious, she began asking around, why were parents being barred from entering? Aren't they allowed to see their children? She got to doing research,. Their children weren't attending the school? Than why were they here? More research,. Their children were SUPPOSED to be here, but are now missing? She began to notice a pattern, in every case of this she could find the victim was from a poorer family, who could never afford to come here on their own, they each had won a raffle, but none of them ever made it to campus. I think you better stop investigating miss Sipe,
Aspen had discovered that the school was complicit in the illegal slave mining operation on Varca, sending unfortunate young souls to a hell they might never escape, all for a share in the profits. Gathering all the evidence she needed, decided to expose the school for their wrong doing, but they had gotten to her first. They became aware of her investigation not long after it started, her sources revealing her to the school in hopes of being rewarded.
She brought everything she had gathered to the galactic law enforcement center, she was going to tell them all about the crimes, but the school already talked to the station. Something about a dangerous young lady, out on an extortion plot, making things up about her school in order to cause a scandal and have them lose their prestigious reputation, and that they shouldn’t believe a word she said. The school had covered up as best they could the trail Aspen had found, and with the word of a well respected institution against merely one of their students, well, it wasn’t hard to see who would win that fight. Accused of a crime she didn’t commit, 16 year old Aspen was framed, disgraced, and disowned by her family. The once promising young star had fallen from grace, and was sent herself to the mines on Varca, to the very same operation she had tried to expose.
